So I'm looking at buying some decks and there is a guys who has 2 Techincs 1200's for sale. one is an MK2 and the other an M3D. I'm just wondering what the difference is between these two.
Also, what are cartidges and headshells used for? |

| The m3d has a quartz lock button. Cartridges go on headshells that go on tonearms. You need them to heard the music. The cartridge has a stylus at the tip that you place in the groove of the record. |

| Inflight, another difference is that the M3D(or the MK5/M5G) have a zero-click pitch slider, so when it goes to zero percent, there is no click sound. I believe that there is instead (on the MK5/M5G at least) a light that lets you know your at zero. The M3D is no longer made so it would be harder to find than the MK5 and they are pretty much the same turntables. The MK5/M5G is black as well, and I think is a little bit more money. I am personally just going with an MK5, since it would be easier to find one, and I prefer getting a new turntable, considering I am planning to use it for a long time. |
