Came across this in The Georgia Strait:
Homebass ending
By Martin Turenne
As the host of Western Canada’s longest-running electronic-music radio show, DJ Noah has done more than just about anyone else in the city to promote the underground dance scene. This month will see the final airing of his show, Homebass, which has been broadcast Fridays nights (9 p.m. to midnight) on CiTR since 1991. After it concludes its radio run on June 24, Homebass will take on an Internet presence at Noah’s Web site (www.djnoah.com/) as either a streaming Webcast or a downloadable podcast. As the launching point for local stalwarts like Tyler Stadius and DJ Czech, Homebass will be sorely missed by the city’s dance-music heads, but Noah promises he’s not going away anytime soon. “I don’t plan on ending my career in the foreseeable future,” said the techno veteran, who has plans to start a new club residency this summer. “I enjoy the music too much and I enjoy seeing people enjoying the music too much to stop.” |
