Paul Van Dyk @ Element, Seattle (June 17, 2005)

Guerrilla
I went last night to Paul Van Dyk show @ Element, Seattle for which I paid $40. I regret now that I paid such money for such a bad show, I mean his music is not that great (I still can't believe he is second best DJ in the world). It was my third time witnessing this DJ playing and I can say that was definately last one. But what the most get me little angry was his face when he was signing autographs, it seemed that he does a such big favor to everyone by putting his name on piece of paper. Those people are your funs, because of them you exist. Does he have such a tight schedule that he can not spend 20 minutes with his fans? For that (getting involved with the fans) I respect Ferry Corrsten.

Hey, don't ruin my Sat night in Dallas, we rarely get to see good DJ's, so I am pumped to see him tonight under the stars.

I am not trying to ruin your night. I was simply trying to describe my feelings after his performance in Seattle. Of course, Paul Van Dyk is a good DJ (but he is not even close to number 2 in my list), and has some good trucks but his performance overall really dissapointed me. Ferry Corsten is coming to Seattle in two weeks and a ticket for his show costs $17 whereas Paul Van Dyk show costed me $40. I am not trying to put everything down in terms of money; however, at some point you start thinking why there is such a big difference between show prices of these two DJ's. I would definately pay $40 for Ferry Corsten's show without even thinking whereas, based on my expirience, I am not going to pay more than $15 for future Paul Van Dyk's shows. Again, it's not issue of money it's issue of expectations about the show. When DJ, for some reasons being claimed number 2 best DJ in the world (and of course he rises his price tickets for the show)you expect this DJ to perform as one of the best DJ's. And honestly, I did not have impression, while I was in his show, that on of the top DJ's was performing live for us. Definately, it was good in the club, but it was not good enough for a such "top" DJ. I hope your expirience will be better than mine. Enjoy your night with famous German.

That place was way too crowded, stuffy and people where even more pushy than normal. They are charging way too much for the quality of show that we got, that is for sure. I've seen PvD 4 times now, and 3 of the 4 times his show has been rather dissapointing. I also give respect to Ferry Corsten, and Tiesto for that matter, for giving respect to the fans and putting on a good show. PvD not so much.

i saw pvd this past saturday at the lizard lounge in dallas and i have to say he played a pretty nice set, he even stayed longer than his alotted time when we (the crowd) cheered for him to. it was really crowded, but it was awesome none-the-less. I paid about 100$ for the whole experience (gas for the 5 hour ride, hotel, and 25% for the ticket) and it was all worth it. :D
