Disco Productions, Ultimo and Mythodic are proud to present a very special Ritual event.
PAUL OAKENFOLD - www.pauloakenfold.com / www..perfecto-fc.com
Widely considered the most original and influential DJ, producer and creative catalyst in modern music, Paul Oakenfold has lent his formidable talents to an encyclopedic array of major artists - everyone from Madonna to U2; Dave Matthews to Moby; Ice Cube to Incubus and beyond.
Over the past few years, the London born, L.A.-based Oakenfold has emerged as one of the most in-demand artists both in the studio and on stage, as well as in soundtrack realms. He's the first electronic artist ever to be in the Guinness Book of Records _ for playing to the largest number of people in one place, the only DJ to have a display case in the Hard Rock Cafe's Rock and Roll Museum, and also the first DJ ever to headline the Hollywood Bowl, where he performed before an audience of 15,000 plus. He has helmed chart topping remixes for, among the many, Madonna ("American Life") and Justin Timberlake ("Rock Your Body") and his smash 2002 album, Bunkka, featured guest vocal performances by the likes of Nelly Furtado, Tricky, Perry Farrell and the peripatetic Hunter S. Thompson. His music has graced such major feature films as Planet Of The Apes, Matrix: Reloaded, Swordfish and Austin Powers and, as a live attraction he was headlining DJ on Moby's massive Area:One North American tour as well as racking up gold sales for his prior mixed album, Another World.
Aside from all the big CDs and studio work, Oakenfold's emphasis on live performing. "The most enjoyment I get is playing music to people," he asserts. "You are directly in contact and it is really stripped down to the bone. You're really in their face and you can judge the reaction right in the moment, good or bad."
Let’s welcome Oakenfold back to the Music City with big smiles!
HERNAN CATTANEO – www.hernancattaneo.com - Buenos Aires, Argentina
Growing up in Buenos Aires, Hernan listened to Europop bands like Simply Red and Level 42, music he found sifting through Billboard magazine (the only music journal he could get at the time). But in 1987 a friend visited Vinylmania in New York City and brought back a sweet taste of Chicago house in the form of Traxx and DJ International pressings, which featured artists like Frankie Knuckles, Derrick May and Inner City. "They blew my mind," exclaims Hernan. "I loved them because they combined the energy of Europe's electronic music - bands like Depeche Mode and New Order - with the soul of American music. After that, everything changed for me." Following a 2004 world tour to promote the aforementioned Masters album including gigs in the best European clubs, five tours around the USA and three around Asia, a busy Ibiza season playing all the most relevant clubs (including the Renaissance Opening Party at Pacha with Sasha), another summer on the major Festival circuit –including among others Creamfields Liverpool and Buenos Aires, Homelands, Global Gathering, Festimad and Skol Beats-, he finally crashed into the 2004 DJ Mag Top 10 DJs with a bang, landing at # 6.
