Excuse ME.
This is to the people who are commenting on Tijs....
First off: Tijs does not get too obsessed about the girls....he's married now!!! shiit...
Second: Of course, no one is perfect, everyone will mash up a record...even the best of us...
Thirdly: in what position are you to talk about someone who is setting an example for the next generation of ppl in the club culture? I don't know if you ahve noticed, but this guy has achieved a lot more than your mouthing off.
Fourthly: he HAS to evolve in order to feed the need of the mainstream... in doing so, he creates his own specific unique style to draw the crowd into his more underground sets..... HA
Fifthly: RESPECT to this man. What has he done to you? made you cry of jealousy?
Sixthly: this list can go on and on but be glad the club scene is becoming more global than ever, EVER. Thanks to a handful of DJ's like Tiesto.
Lastly: You have no idea what he does in his own country...FREE concerts, benefit concerts for Tsunami Relief...and a load more than you think.... this is all going to your head...plus you must be really in bored if you have to comment in this thread when you're not even a fan....
Cheers |
I have to make a comment on your effort. I have not heard this album, therefor I wont be commenting on it. But I will comment on the downward progression many of the DJ's have been falling into. (Tiesto or "Tijs" as you refer to him as... do you know him that well?)
I see you are a nooblet here and havent been around during the golden days of trance or electronica. Dance music used to take people on a journey. Mix CD's told stories, tracks took time and didnt have the same formatting to them. Tiesto (armin, oakie, ferry etc) have strayed from what made them what they are. EDM started as a purely underground culture. Where is it now? You answered in your number 4. Mainstream. To satisfy the mainstream addiction, producers, DJ's pornstars etc have to produce quantity. Dont believe me?

Look at all of the same songs being released on multiple labels. Tell me if that can be quality vs quantity... Also! Can you honestly say that his style of music has evolved? I say no. I mean no disrespect to the man. But what he creates now is nothing like what he used to do. Can you tell me that traffic gives you the same feeling as silence did, the first time you heard it? What about sparkles, Theme From Norefjell or working on L'Esperanza?? Now he has the parade of athletes that sounds techie and bland. His CD just be was alright. At least he had a mix of up genre's, but the CD didnt pack a full punch as previous ones have....
And to respond to your number 6... ive read in the midwest forums that you have recently turned 21, and will beable to goto clubs now. How do you know for sure that the club scene is becoming "global"? EDM has been around for a long while, in and out of the clubs. The sad thing is, most people dont go to clubs for the music. They go to find a quick , or to get ed up. Sadly the DJ's we love for the music dont cater to us anymore. They play pounding programmed anthems. One after the other after the other.
Sorry bra, I cant side with you on this. I dont hate tiesto, I just hate what he has become. |

i like tiesto, no matter what he spins just long as it moves me, ISOS4 is great IMHO and im sad to see such "hatrid" towards the man, specially since he's been round forever and we should be respecting him.....
btw nice sig verndog
**well said Spliph ;) i guess we're one of the few TRUE trancers |
Haha this coming from the guy who thought Sasha and Steve Porter were trance. I don't think I really have to add anything else to this post. |

i love how many people use the argument of "do YOU spin?" when someone criticizes someone elses talent as a DJ. do i have to be a movie director to comment on how good a film is? do i have to be a chef to comment on how good a burrito is? heck no. just because i am not a professional at something doesn't mean i can't form my own opinion of it.

being around "forever" is no reason to respect someone. i respect DJs who are innovative and creative, DJs who are trying to move the scene forward, DJs who actually care about what they do, DJs who care about what their true fans think. the Sander quote in ctprincess's sig comes to mind...

and i hope you guys enjoy paying $40 for a "trancey treat"
i'd also like to add that i share the same opinion with _Nut_ ... very well said. |
