| i bought some sennheiser hd-280's, and theyre cracking, so i'm wondering if i can return it (with all the original packaging), saying that they were given to me as a gift, and they're broken. Or can i buy a new pair of sennheisers, put the old broken one in the new packaging, and say that they came to my broken, and get my refund? |

this is where the warranty helps.... unless its expired or you dont have the paper for it ...
either way i think its great that your 280s are cracking b/c it proves that there is no golden brand that doesnt crack:p and that what really matters is how you treat your gear rather than which brand is best
- no offence or anything;)
if you dont have a warranty you could try what you suggested... altho it might not fly with wherever youre trying to take it back to...you can always try... |

id go to their site and look up their policy on returns and exchanges and if you have everything there covered then you should be able to pull it off...
and for your concience's sake... thats a rather shady trick to pull you dishonest bastard:whip:
;) lemme know if it works :D |

I'll be honest, i was thinking about doing a simular thing by swapping a BFG geforce6600gt for a geforce 2 mx400 and returning it to Comp USA b/c they never check. :D
But my concience and morals got to me first. :whip: |

If you've got fair use out of your headphones don't be an arse and try and get a free pair, just go out and buy a new pair. However, if they are new and you haven't got decent use out of them, you should be able to get a replacement pair under warranty.
If you got the receipt, take it back to the store and I think they get someone to look at it (either end it off, or have a local rep look at it), and they decide if you deserve a new pair or not - that's what happened when my stantons broke. |
