Gettin a stud diamond earring

Cal
I'm getting my ear pierced for the very first time, so I'm shopping around for a stud diamond earring.

Anyone that got one, or is in the know on the whole earring/pircing business can tell me what I should look for in a stud/diamond?

And is there a place where I can get this piece of jewelry for cheaper, like off the back of some truck in some alley? Ive looked online and the prices for these things are crazy.

well...yeah it's a diamond    Why do you think engagement rings are so expensive :tongue3 most people just have fake ones (diamonds in the ears i mean)...I think I'd be afraid to get my ear ripped off for the real diamond.

Unless your a bling bling rapper like 50cent or such there really is no point getting one. I see guys all the time with oversized stud earrings and to be honest it's kinda tacky

Namibia and South Africa -- i've heard the alleys around those parts are littered with diamond studs that nobody wants to have.

Good choice on opting to get some cheap diamonds btw.

You'll probably get lucky in some back alley cause that's where most of the reputable diamond merchants seem to hang out. Look around George St and Sherbourne and Shooter area. Ask for 'lil Mo' and 'Big Cheese' - both come with excellent references. They'll probably sell you da 'rock' at rock bottom prices as well...Make sure you check for clarity and cut, cause that's importnat when you buy.

Best-a luck buddy, not that you'll need it though. You seem to be on the right path with your thinking. Cheaper is definately better -- especially given how easy it is for the laymen to spot a real diamond from a fugazee.

Go talk to Jack Berkovits @ Omni Jewelcrafters (Keele & Hwy 7). The guy is on the radio all the time and sounds like a respectable person.
