| Has anyone here played and if so is it worth the buy? Some people are saying its just as good if not better than Devil May Cry 3. |

It's definitely a great game, no arguing that. However, comparing it to Devil May Cry 3 is a bit of a stretch. GoW plays out more like a retro beat-em-up button mashing type of game while DMC3 makes the player hone his/her combo-ing and evasive skills so that (s)he would be able to move on in the game. This (DMC3 hone) is due to its difficulty level. For a veteran gamer (or veteran dmc player), the game (DMC3) might be challenging, but to an extent, while the novice will find the game downright impossibly hard, at times. GoW's hardest difficulty, God Mode, is somewhat challenging for a novice but can nearly be a walk in the park for the veteran.
Either way, both games are really fun. I bought DMC3 for the sole purpose of completing my DMC collection. God of War, while quite appealing as a title to purchase, is a game that should first be rented. Upon return of the game (to the rental store) it's up to the player to decide whether they'll be renting it again, so as to finish the game or tackle a different difficulty, or if it's worth laying down $50 plus tax (varies in different states - both price and tax) for.
The choice is yours. |

The only close similarity between the two I found were the item pick-ups (the orbs that refil your bars).
I haven't tried DMC 3 but I have heard from numerous sites and friends that it's brutally difficult. On the other hand, I have played through the first level of God of War....It's kind of easy but Highly enjoyable. I definitely think this is a must buy if the price point lowers. |

It does get better, and its one of my favourite games on the PS2
The best game on PS2 so far?
I would have to say Metal Gear Solid 3
Storyline, Graphics, Gameplay, Sound, everything is a perfect 10 :D |
