| Just wondering where the best venue to go out to every week in BC. Also how big is compared to something like the guvernment in toronto which fits a ton of ppl? I'm coming home in a couple of weeks and the ferry corsten show should be nuts |

| in vancouver plush is the closest thing to the guvernement, but the commodore is a bit bigger and a tonne nicer (but more of a concert venue, not a club) |

Sorry to break it to ya, but there's no place in B.C. that would even compare to the Guv! I'd say the Commodore would be a closer comparison to the Koolhaus, but still not nearly the size!
Plush really is a nice club and they bring in the good acts, and yes, Ferry is going to be one KICK ASS show.
I saw Ferry at the Guvernment many years ago, and it was one of the best shows I've ever been too! I can't friggin wait. :eyes: |

For electronic music is obviously not in Vancouver.

yeah, vancouver just lost 3 regular electronic nights, they were good nights too. from the looks of it so far, there are lots of events coming up in the next couple of months. altho, since for the most part they involve major acts, so it'd be a bit more expensive than just to go to a club and chill
lotus has a prog house night on saturdays i believe
tokyo lounge has stuff happening on fridays, every week its different, from breaks to house to trance
there are 3 or 4 other places that have house nights, think the standard (old barfly in new west), shine and maybe couple other clubs |

Sadly, that is true. Yes Plush has a huge capacity, but atmosphere and soundwise, it can hardly be compared to the Guv/System/Boa etc. It also depends on who is holding the night at Plush, as I've been there on nights where the sound is gawd awful eg drinks falling off tables due to whoompy bass, ears bleeding due to bass cracking+distorting at higher volumes etc etc |

To Be Fair
Guv is one of the best venues if not THE best in NA, alot of DJ's favour it.
BC has no scene, hence we need no super clubs |

True but I think that BC has the potential for a good scene maybe not as big as toronto but recognizable. To get the scene going is the tough part and I think that its started with promoters such as twisted throwing big events in the city. Where it goes from here i'm not to sure |
