My New Computer

Twoces
So, I was building a computer for a friend of mine, and man I couldn't resist, I had to splurge and pick one up for myself, let me tell you what I got.

Cpu: The processor is a amd 64 3500+ with the "mystery core" (most people think it's a clawhammer). Word on the street is that they are fx-53s whose 1mb cache failed so they locked it off at 512 and are dumping them as 3500s before San Diego and Venice come out, don't really know, don't really care, they've been overclocking at around 2.8 with air, 2.9-3.1 ghz with water and 3.4 with phase.

Motherboard: I went for the abit AX8, while many people prefer the nvidia 4 chipset, I heard that the raid setup on those are iffy and can be prone to data corruption. Plus I hear that the AX8 loves a big FSB. Also, I like to be different.

Video Card: I went a bit more modest on the video card, a purchased a 6600gt, which from the reviews I read is still a very good video card.

Memory: I was going to by some corsair XMS, but after doing a bit of research I decided to go with the geil ultra ddr500 1gb (512 x 2), it actually uses the same hybrix (?) 43 that the corsair ddr-500 does, get's better reviews, and was about 100$ cheaper.

Hard Drives: I'm still going to use my old hard drives, western digital caviars, with one new addition to the bunch, I scooped up a western digital raptore 76gig 10,000k rpm SATA drive, to keep the operating system and games on.

Power Supply: I got a thermaltake xaser III 480w, this is the part I'm concerned about most, I hope the rails are steady...

Cooling: Cool by Corsair water cooling system, Arctic Silver 5 (of course), a couple of new fans (makes 6 total), includeing a pair of 100+cfpm fans, and a 4 fan controller for when they don't need to go that fast (hopefully never).

Well, man I'm hyped up, I can't wait to get stuff, I order it from New Egg today. I've never overclocked before, but I've been reading up on it, doesn't seem to tough, just time consumeing and a lot of trial and error, nice thing about the abit motherboard is it holds 6 CMOS settings so you don't have to keep writing things down to keep track of what worked and what didn't. Well tell me what you think?

Oh, one thing, anyone got any ideas on how to rig the 120mm radiator that comes with Cool by Corsair, to an aspire dreamer 2 case? I think this might take, a dremel and some time...

So now that I've told you that, let me tell you what I'm upgrading from...
amd xp 2700+
512 Generic Ram
Generic GForce 2 mx400
and yeah that's about it, think I'll notice a difference? ;)

EDIT: Did I post this in the wrong forum, do people talk about gaming computer setups in here? Well if I did let me know and I'll delete it.
