ok we've all had our fun, and we've chastised twisted enough for forgetting about us.
look at our response, and you wonder why they are hesitant to announce here.
Why does everything have to be official threads anyways.
i know ta has the rule that you can only advertise here if you put the TA logo on the flyer, but so few people do it and they still get away with it, why bother enforcing it?
what we dont need is 4 armin at plush threads... once a show is leaked or announced, just leave it, it seems to work well enough.
since when did clubbing become all about the message board? stuff gets posted, and wham, feuds start etc. it was suppossed to be about information, not debates on artists and venues (im quite the hypocrit saying that i realize). Just post up events and let us know when and where, and we will be there if we feel like it. |

This is an interesting thread... I just saw it now.
First off all, thank-you for re-opening the threads. As I mentioned in my email to you j_spot, I posted what I did for two reasons - 1.) Some people on this forum in other threads requested info on these shows and 2.) Tickets are already out for some of them. I would hate to have any of your user group miss out on a show because tickets have sold out or are more expensive because they bought to late in the game. To further, as apri_peel mentioned, I've already made these announcements on other forums, some of which you've mentioned. None of these other forums have these date-type rules you speak of. They want info, related to the sites content and they want traffic. The info I posts helps bring that to them.
AquaYak - I completely disagree. If a show or a DJ coming to town is leaked, the thread should not be left at that. I have frequently found that people who have obtained info early and think they are the sh_it by posting it (must make them feel important), end up posting incorrect info. Those wanting to attend an event tend to refer to the "official event post" for accurate/up-to-date information. -- This is why all Twisted and now all CARGO (for the most part) announcements are made by me. To ensure accuracy of information and a timely response to any questions on our events.
Now on a totally different subject... NO ONE from TA has ever approached me regarding putting the TA logo on our flyers. All of you know by now that I am the Marketing & Promotions Manager for Twisted. Logically I would expect if you are looking to have this done, you would approach me, and present a business case. Of course Twisted is all about working with local forums to not only promote our shows, but increase your exposure. -- Our relationship with fnk.ca is a great example of this.
If you have any questions... here's how to reach me:
