Do you know Vitalic? Already many do. To those who love his music, his unique sound, he’s the pleasure provider: the ultimate rush, the greatest high, the invincible metal disco warrior. With his debut four-song ‘Poney EP’, first released in late 2001, Vitalic tore through dancefloors across the world like the Wagner of rave.
Since then Vitalic has toured the globe and has also remixed tracks for the likes of Bjork, The Basement Jaxx, Slam and The Hacker under Vitalic or the Dima moniker.
The first single to be released properly from the album ”My Friend Dario” is as distinctive a Vitalic track as you could hope for. With the same devastating dancefloor feel as “La Rock 01” but with a more accessible edge, both totally now and totally futuristic, it features the robotized voice of Brigitte straight from the heart of Vitalics machine.
Backed by another great remix by his alter ego Dima it’s influenced heavily from the Belgian new beat scene from the late eighties. The CD maxi also includes a great interpretation of pioneering electro “moment” that is “Warm Leatherette”.
After Fanfares released a few months ago, ‘My Friend Dario” is the single announcing the album “Ok Cowboy” to be released the 25th of April on Different/PIAS Recordings.
