i disagree. it would be so much better to put a dj on a timeslot that suits his style. here's an example which happened last night: we went to cage to find ourselves be punished by pounding hard trance by ajax. a quick glance at the clock indicates that it is indeed just quarter past midnight and the night was just started. now everyone knows that ajax play hardstyle. we can't really blame him because he played hard, because its his signature style. i must say that putting him up so early is a bad decision. the crowd wasn't ready for such pounding sound that early in the night (except for those before-11pm-munters prolly!) however, it would be a good decision to put him later in the night when the crowd are ready for more pounding sound.
i disagree. no other djs has ever create such a massive impact other than scott bateman. his set @ resolutions NYE is a perfect example of one. if there is only one person deserving the main time slot, it would be him. i reckon with 5am having too many DJs and rather than giving each them rotation to play without having to play a versus set, it is indeed facing a big problem with a simple solution: stop doing versus, and start letting them play alone. if scotty has been with 5am for almost a year and still be placed to play an opening set, i reckon i'd sooner mastered mixing on 3 decks, than him getting a main time slot, imo. how much more 'proof' does 5am need?
and by the way, i am pretty sure vi was referring to a trance night in general rather than this particular event. :toocool:

i agree with you that certain dj's who play particular styles should be put on at certain times of the night. all i'm saying is that if a dj should be able to play at any time slot if they're that good. i totally agree with what you're saying babe.
and i wasn't referring to scotty bateman when i said everyone gets to prove themselves. i don't do the set times babe. i reckon he'll be getting a main spot in our next event. he was supposed to be playing a main set at motorcycle but that event unfortunately didn't go ahead. |

he'd do very well in a main time slot, like most people would. good luck scotty - for whenever it does happen mate.
can someone add dave + 1 to the staff list? cause i seem to have problems getting v in through without tickets most times which is teh sux0r. |
