Wow! That's my heriatge, I'm half Lao :D very nice scenery from around there, just dont go too deep into the forest, lots of nasties in there... :D
Oh, and I see that you've discovered the drama of SE asian public transport ;):D:D We spent 74 hours with 13 of us in a minivan (made for 9) with a chicken on the woman to my left and a pig in the walkway (because the train on the tracks before us derailed on it's way out... (we were in the train waiting to leave after it :nervous: !!)
Gotta love the 'luggage in the cabin' look! the cargo hold was full of passengers no doubt ;)
Fun times :D mind you, if anyone knows how to make a little go a long way it's them :D my hat is off to you... |

i loved riding in the buses filled with sacks of rice, turkeys and men with machine guns on their laps :p

Such a fun place to be isn't it ;)
Nah it's not too bad... It was pretty cool, when we were there we cashed in US$100 travellers cheque and came home with just about a suitcase full of notes!! It looked cool at least... I'd almost want to go over there and work for them for a while as a local to just help out where I can... |
