The story started in 1997 when Piet Bervoets and Benno de Goeij met each other at a party. Piet already was into music and DJing and had his own studio at the time. Benno already had a perfect ear for good melodies, due to his classical musical background by playing the piano and the keyboard. They decided to collaborate and the first releases as Pedro & Benno soon followed. After many successes under different artist name's, in 1998, the name Rank 1 was born.
Rank 1’s ‘Airwave’ brought Piet and Benno international acclaim, hitting number 1 on numerous charts. After this they had many successes like their remix of Cygnus X's 'Superstring' , the Sensation theme of 2000. Their next single 'Such Is Life' was released in July 2001 and quickly climbed the the dance charts all over Europe. ‘Such Is Life’ became one of 2001’s largest trance anthems and was made the theme song for Sensation 2001. Soon after this release their single’s 'Awakening' and ‘Breathing’ hit the European charts.
Rank 1 has headlined at events all over Europe, North America and Asia and can regularly be found at some of the largest trance events in the world, such as Trance Energy, Innercity and Sensation, headlining alongside some of the biggest DJs in the world, such as Armin Van Buuren, Tiesto, Ferry Corsten and Paul Van Dyk.
On Friday April 29th, 2005, Soundwave Entertainment is extremely excited and proud to present Rank 1 as the headliner for Tranceformers 4.1!

Ryan Kruger aka OS/2, has been working the decks across North America for the past nine years. With a sound that can best be described as bangin' progressive trance, he has electrified dance floors across Canada and the United States. OS/2 is resident at Renaissance Events, Ascension and Club Viva in Toronto as well as Canada's longest running event producer, Destiny Productions. Destiny is the company responsible for not only the most parties in Canada over the past decade but also the renowned three day World Electronic Music Festival held each July outside Toronto. OS/2's smooth mixing and hands in the air sound make him a crowd favorite wherever he plays!
