The WMC is about 1 month + 1 week away, and...
While we had the most saturation of dutch trance acts last year, this year:
Dutch Trance - Absent From The Winter Music Conference.
Marcel Woods - never been to miami?
Dumonde - never been to miami ?
Johan Gielen - Terrible stage in ultra 2004 and extremly bad turnout for Kremlin, a dutch event at Club Space. Space charged $30,000 for the night. In 2002 he performed at space to a crowed of 7 individuals. With all of this bad luck, why should the dutch come back to miami?
Cor Fijneman - No respect in miami, performed at Kremlin night with Johan
Marco V - what a terrible host Ultra 6 was to this world renowned dj & producer. An empty stage in the middle of nowhere with the lights turned off. He _was_ _pissed_ ultra 6
Cosmic Gate - Performed at "the ice palace" ?!? in 2004, no show 2003, had an insanely small tent at ultra 2002 where they filmed a portion of their hit single "The Truth"
Talla 2XLC - last performance was at Ultra (2002?) was amazing!

Tiesto & Paul Van Dyk - A Given
So this year WMC will not see a single Dutch Act. Armin van Buuren will make his debut at Ultra and NU NRG will be a new addition as well. We know how both of these acts made it into ultra. I am guessing it's the good work of arturo/markus? And thank-you thank-you thank-you a million times! I hope when Nu NRG performs it's not only the tranceaddicts in attendance. And lastly we have Infected Mushroom. After 4 years of absence from miami they came back to a full house in December of 2004. That party being thrown by an ultra insider, naturally they made their way back by being invited to Ultra 7. The _only_ psytrance act?
Ultra will be flooded with Breaks and Drum and Bass, some house and progressive beats.
Even though Infected Mushroom, Armin van Buuren, and NU NRG are fresh faces to Ultra, major forces of the trance movement are shunned from this year's Winter Music Conference.
This is the first year im considering not going to Ultra, or going only for the 3 acts i mentioned, including pvd and tiesto naturally. I am looking for an alternative. Not to my surprise i predict Infected and Nu NRG playing around 2-3pm? Armin might get a better time slot, probably along side markus in the evening around 6pm? Then you have to wait for tiesto and pvd at 11pm -1am.
Looking at their schedule, the dutch will find themselves in Canada, New York and San Francisco.
My fellow tranceaddicts, Will miami ever warm up again to the dutch? Or shall I say, trance ? :conf: |

All I can say him is :eek: :eyes: :wtf:
He killed the main room @ Space.....(in a good way of course!)
Hard banging music @ 10am compared to what usually is played at that time......I loved every second of it! :toothless |

Yeah his set after Tiesto was ing SICK!!! I kept running between the Terrace and the main room....just couldn't get enough.:crazy: |

I was dying to go to the kremlin night last year, but i think it was on wednesday night, and remember WMC started on the previous thursday that year... i was so fried and broke by then, i sadly was unable to make it. However, i did go to the dance valley party for WMC03, and had a wonderful time.. im sad there wont be a night like that this year.... are you absolutely sure?? im thinking that maybe SOMETHING will be announced.....
....Oh and don't forget that ferry (and armin too, right?) are dutch, and they get plenty of respect in miami....
im not going to ultra, either, b/c i am not very impressed with some of the acts that will be there, plus the amount of d&b and breaks stuff makes set times/space for those i want to see more sparse... if rather be somehwere where the performer i want to see is the main focus.... |
