Bremen info

UnBracKo
I post here to know + info about Bremen. Next year I’ll do an Erasmus year, and is now when I’ve to pick where to go. I don’t have too many choices but the cities I’d like to go / I can go are: Bremen, Dublin, Bratislava, Lodz, Katowice...
however I don’t know too much about these cities (just the typical things you can read in an encyclopaedia) and I’d like to know how Bremen is because I want to pick the city, out of these, that fits best with my priorities.
I'm searching a city with a good nightlife (EDM clubs), record shops (I spin), a city with a student atmosphere, a multicultural city and a city with a basic level of English because right now my level of German is void. Oh also I've heard Bremen is one of the european cities with an higher level of GDP per person, so I suppose that to live in Bremen it's expensive, right?
So if anyone from Bremen or anyone who knows the city can help me it’d be very useful for me.

thx in advance

The nightlife in Bremen is not too big, as it plays no bigger role for the german EDM scene. There are a few well-known producers from there (Kay Cee, Thomas Schumacher...) and I'm sure there will be record shops. Bremen ain't that big, maybe you will like the harbour. You will get the opportunity to talk much english, as Bremen is quite international due to sea trade. I dunno how expensive living in Bremen is but I can assure you Bremen wouldn't be too expensive.

Hi UnBracKo,

i live near bremen, the EDM scene is not that big like vandit_freak said, but 100 kilometers away is Hamburg, there is a big scene.

And i can assure you too Bremen wouldn't be too expensive, there are also 2 big Universities in Bremen and currently about 18000 people doing their studys in Bremen and certainly you will have a student athmosphere.

If you like to know more about it, write me a mail

thx vandit_freak / disco stu
I also thought in Hamburg for the nightlife because I knew it wasn't too far away from Bremen, it's like my city it's near Barcelona (100 km too) and there I can find all the things I can't find here.

All your topics will help me to make the best decision. I want to be sure that the city I pick will be the best, because I will spend one year out of my home and that's too much time if I don't like the place in the end.
