Hey,
I've been lurking for awhile now, so don't bite my head off at the question.
Has anybody been taking samples from TV or from just recording audio tracks outside to remix?
I'm finding that a lot of my tracks, no matter how well I can get them to progress or quality of the sound/pattern, they just lack.
And I'm not really into the whole "Hey, I'm a DJ and I've got a message and I'm gonna say it" type deal. I think my medium is my message, and the message is crap.
I find that by taking a simple clip of Rosie O'donell's voice, splicing it a bit, and treating it like a normal pattern, I get some pretty good results. :stongue:
Is that lame? If so, how do you suggest I get the tracks to sound interesting instead of like a lot of the other crap going around?
Thx. |

well personally I love samples from TV. Only not rosie...more like simpsons, dukes of hazzard, miami vice more 'pop' television..a memorable line from a show thrown in @ the right time can SLAUGHTER a track.
but yeah, rosie is lame. |

You're right, Rosie is lame.
It's kinda fun mocking her tho. |
