1 Gig of ram, 3Ghz processor, etc.
Awesome fast except for gaming for some reason. It came with an Intel graphics card, 82915G and I assumed it would be , although it was apparantly an upgrade from a radeon 8500 and I was told it was better (of course I knew he just wanted to make the sale).
So when I run something like Doom 3 it goes really slowely, even in the lowest settings. The menus and whatnot all load blazing fast, the opening videos and whatnot went fine but when the game starts anytime there's movement on the screen it goes extremely slow.
To make sure it wasn't just the game I tried Worms 3D and I run into the same slowdown problem during game play.
So what's the problem? Should I just format and do a clean install instead of having the they put on here? Should I update my drivers? I just got the damn thing yesterday :( |

Should have made a custom computer.
Change the video settings in the games. Don't run under maximum resolution, anti-aliasing, antistropic filtering, etc... |

Load up the game(s) and read off the settings for me. ;) |

All I know is that I set the setting to low quality and it changed all the video settings for me.
I just updated my video drivers and whatnot as well as making sure I had the latest version of Direct X and I saw mild improvement. |

Hmm. Can't help you there then.
Call support and ask. |

on board graphics cards tend to "suck"
do yourself a favor, buy an AGP card (radeon 9600pro seems to be the best bang for the buck, it's around $125-135 or so) |

Question, would you think that formatting the computer and installing windows again might make it work? I mean it's a new computer but maybe it's something pre-installed.
Also, my video card appears to use open GL, would that mean that it can't use direct 3d and that might be the problem right there? |
