The orioles desperately need pitching and they go out and grab Sosa,is Peter Angelos that scared of the Nationals coming close to his market that he feels that he has to get a big name.....this is why the Orioles are middle of the pack...always.

Dope man! I gotta wait for the regular season tix to go on sale.
And, call me crazy, but I could picture Angelos purposely not making his team good so that he can complain about the Nationals messing with his team or whatever. Doubt it... but I could see it. |

i was pretty shocked how soon this trade was put down, without any type of forewarning to the media that baltimore was interested in him .. or maybe i missed the pre-trade news .. dont know ..
but u guys are forgetting how jerry hairston jr. is a decent all-around baseball player .. he can give the cubs excellent base running, good defense, and solid batting average .. this could be his breakout year (for fantasy owners if you want to know .. hahahhaa ) .. yet, dont the cubs have too many outfielders ??? maybe some switching around my come around ...
but this sosa trade is like the mcgrady trade in orlando .. both guys pout and whine how they are with a sad team, and then they "presumably" (stressing the quotes) -- dont try the whole season the previous year .. we'll see this season which team will fare better with this trade ,, |

Well, now the Cubs lost Sosa and Alou this off season. So I'm sure that they don't have an over-abundance of OF's.
Also, Baltimore was one of few teams that were continually linked to Sosa. The Mets and Royals being two others. |
