dutch guys are the coolest!! i just spent 3 days in south western part of holland last week, it was great! i stayed in a small town but i still liked holland, you ppl are so damn nice, and you have tv in english!!!!! (even if its subtitled in dutch) i wanna go back to holland, which i hopefully will if not next year, than the year after that ;) |

Yoooooo guys
I'm 19/m from Calgary, and only DJ's I've really seen were Tiesto at Magik last December and Mike Downey who opened for Tiesto and tore it up ;-)
Unfortunately being in the R&B and Top 40 dominated city of Calgary doesn't warrant much opportunity for me to see a lot of big trance names, especially when my best buddy is only 16 hehe. All my "of age" buddies don't like my "trance " ;-) Aaanyways I'm a student at Mount Royal College just part time for now and I look forward to meetin a bunch of ya sometime.
I'd love to hear some suggestions of good spots to go cuz I'm dying to get out of the saturdays that I usually get pulled into (Cowboys and/or the Back Alley... unless Red Dawg from CJ92 is there cuz he is my friend's uncle and we get free booze ;-)
ah yeah just thought I'd mention I'm kinda starting to do some bedroom DJ'ing (kinda because I have no cashflow so I'm just doing mp3 mixing atm... but it's helping me learn techniques and hone my skills ;-) and eventually looking to get work once I get some real tables and mebbe final scratch hehe. I've done a couple mixes, one was Hard house (Listening to the mix now... about a year later I'm kinda not too fond of my first attempt. The track selection was decent but my mixing skills were crap to say the least at that point.) One I've just done most recently was a lounge mix and has apparently been passed off to the owner of the sapphire lounge in calgary (or so I'm told) and I'm pretty proud of that mix hehe. Gonna be doing a nice trance mix very soon, lots of nice uplifting tracks =)
Anyways, that's most of me, hardly the most interesting parts but whatevs hehe |

next party I suggest you come by yourself..the fact that you are by yourself shouldnt matter too much, I mean you are there for the music, and the party is still going even if you are by yourself. Im sure that you could meet some of us, or join up on www.electrocalgary.com because there are alot of (entirely) calgary party ppl there. its a good place to meet ppl.
if you like trance, the only decent things are afterhours on Sat, and thats hard trance. youve got Auxillary and Warehouse, I prefer warehouse, but you can take your pick.
and if you liked Mike Downey @ Magik, I suggest coming to Love and Emotion 3, its a CD release party(for mike), and hes opening for Nick Sentience. Will be a blazing hard night!!! |
