what you call losing your serve for five straight games not getting smashed? losing the last two sets 6-0 and 6-2 not getting smashed?
if you think that is not getting smashed, then it is you that has not played competitive sport. i used to play top grade competition tennis so dont say i dont know anything about playing tennis let alone other sport.
it was close in the first two sets because baghdatis was playing ridiculous tennis well above his normal game. this is also why begic said that baghdatis plays inconsistent tennis.
baghdatis' father is turkish not greek, he also looks turkish not greek. so why are you saying he is greek? |

Teflon, he sings the greek national anthem, he speaks greek, that makes him greek cypriot... hes dad was born in lebanon, but was raised in greece, and married to a greek girl... Turkish pfft
Why would he celebrate and wave greek flag after the game, only a turk would say something ludricous like that...
Also i dont think have played before, yourc omment that he simply put on the cramp, implies you have never EVER played any sort of competitive sport... No one put Bahgdatis in the same league as federer, but i have seen a lot more lob sided finals than the one last nite, and for some of you to try and make nothing of his achievement is laughable... |

how quickly people forget that Federer's path to champion status was also gradual, not overnight.

i was never saying that making the final is not a huge effort, but everyone jumped on the bandwagon and thought he could win. i am simply stating the facts that federer is a true champion and absolute freak at tennis and in another league to not just baghdatis but every other tennis player in the world at the moment.
in regards to the cramp thing, does it not strike you as surprising that he got cramp when he was dead and buried and federer was ready to wrap up the match? in competitive sport some people make excuses when they know they are out of the match and realise that they cannot win the match anymore. he had cramp from nerves because he was getting steamrolled not because of exhaustion or dehydration. if it was one of those then he would not have gotten straight back up again and fired down a 200 km/hr serve the very next point.
only a turk would make that statement, well i am not turkish. he speaks about eight languages apparently so if he speaks japanese does that make him japanese? and to quote a friend who works at the hotel that baghdatis stayed at when he won the junior tournament baghdatis believes he is cypriot not greek or turkish cypriot. it is an separate country after all. |
