With nearly 20 years of DJ experience between the two, JJ Boogie & Johnzy have combined to DJ across the country and in Canada at acclaimed events such as the WMC, the WEMF, Live on the Decks, Get Lucky and they have headlined from San Diego to Orlando, San Fran to Miami, Wisconsin to Boston.
Groove Reactor began in 1998 when JJ Boogie and DJ Sugar formed their first production company after having bought turntables in 1996. Having been attending raves since 1993, both DJs felt they could work together to bring more high quality raves and club events to Cincinnati and Dayton and work to elevate their DJ careers as well. Since 1998, Groove Reactor and it's sister companies have thrown over 75 events and have had over 25,000 people attend their various shows. Between the massive rave and club events they have done (DJ Irene, DJ Dan, Frankie Bones) to their hugely popular Revolutions and Club Nights parties in Cincinnati, Groove Reactor has been a driving force in the Midwest EDM scene for over 7 years now.
After signing Johnzy, a rising regional DJ and friend, to Groove Reactor, both artists formed Groove Reactor Records in 2001. Since that time, JJ and Johnzy have worked tirelessly to develop GR into one of the Midwest's most respected indie labels. Groove Reactor has released 3 vinyl albums (2 of which were at the WMC in Miami) and 2 CD Compilations (Underground Sounds Vol. 1 and 2) which showcase the very best in jungle, breaks, and abstract. Using the label as a platform to push his production work which began with his early Live PA days in 1999, JJ has now produced tracks for 5 different labels (including Funktion Junktion and Demulcent) and his most recent work, Funktion of My Drums has been licensed to Global Alliance for a worldwide mixed CD for February 2005 due out in Best Buy and Virgin Mega Stores (www.globalscene.org).
JJ & Johnzy will be teaming up for a slamming tag-team set of building progressive house and techno and will also be featuring some of their newest unreleased material. Together they have headlined with acclaimed stars including Paul Oakenfold, Paul Van Dyk, George Acosta, BT, Deep Dish, Humpty Vission, and many more and this will be a set not to be missed. |
