Here's the link to the AJC story that ran in yesterdays paper.

AJC Article

*edit*Underground's website (official!) */edit*

I for one think this is a fabulous idea for the space. Everyone who has lived in Atlanta for a while knows that underground sucks , but fill it with bars and clubs and my god. I even heard, even though its not in this particular article, that Space (or another HUGE club) might be opening a club in underground Atlanta. I don't want to spread rumors or get everyone hyped up about this and have it not be true, its just what i heard.

But i can hear it now...PvD...Live at Space..IN ATLANTA!!!!!

LOOK OUT MIAMI!!!! :toocool: :toocool: :toocool:

holy !!! :eyes: this is good news for us :) you KNOW that that 4am last call law is BEGGING for a large, EDM club to open up there... just hope this all works out, and we keep all that Buckhead Bull outta there! :)

gotta love the open container policy too ;)

lol! Don't to excited about this undergrond atlanta thing. The only place that says "high ennergy dance club" is Future and thats going to be a fetish club.....

creative loafing source:

In addition to the Alpharetta compound, the Masquerade's owners are involved in opening three new clubs in Underground Atlanta, including [b]Future, a less industrial, more upscale version of the Chamber. Riopelle says a VIP-only balcony -- complete with dressing rooms for customers who don't feel like wearing their buttless chaps on the walk over from the parking deck -- should appeal to serious fetish enthusiasts.

The Future: Dean Riopelle, who owns the Masquerade and has at least a partial stake in four of the new Underground clubs, has developed a "faux fetish" club, he said, because it's more camp than serious. It's intended as a partial replacement for Chamber, a fetish club off Cheshire Bridge Road that he closed after the early closing times passed because it had such a late-night following.

Artist Shane Morton created a stark '50s-era futuristic look, with a silver color theme. Murals packed with Martian invasions dominate the landscape. There will be a VIP area upstairs with a locker room for folks who like to dress up, rubber and leather style. "We went a little art deco," Morton said. "We managed to pull it together so it wasn't cheesy."

The rest of those places basically look like cheesy buckhead bars.

oh and by the way on saturdays they can't stay open any longer then anyone else inthe city....

most plan to be open at least three nights a week. They'll open from 9 p.m. Thursdays to 4 a.m. Fridays, 9 p.m. Fridays to 4 a.m. Saturdays, and 9 p.m. Saturdays to 3 a.m.
