| oh and before everyone talks about the 3-second mini-trainwreck during the last transition.. my "it began in afrika" CDS is ed up :whip: it has a huge pitch variation after the drums, I don't know if it's just my CDS or... 'cos everytime I mix it this happens and it's not my fault :mad: lol |

| yeah, it's nice, the transitions are nice, well for the last, but you explained so i'm nto going to talk more about that but, nice mix, will listen to it again. cheers |

The Tracklisting looked nice, but i'll be honest, after your first mix out of On a Bridge, it seemed to fall apart pretty quickly. The mix out of that first track is awesome but past that, your next mix into Pole Folder I would consider a trainwreck. Its generally pretty loose throughout. What gear are you using to mix? The programming I felt was a little back and forth. You seemed like you were setting a groove at the beginning, but then we went from deep, to a track with a funky type of bassline, and then straight into minimal prog with the Chable and Fernandez track. Everything past Blame seemed like you were just playing records you wanted to hear rather than finding records that move into one another and follow a groove.

I'm using a VMX-300 with 2 CDJ-100s and a EFX-500 and I also have
2 techs MKII (not used in this set, as all of it were mainly MP3s bought from Release Records' site, exception to Halogen and It began in Afrika).
I have to disagree about the trainwreck thing, most of the transitions were on target except for the "It began in Afrika" one which is something that always occurs (I'm actually trying to edit it on acid to have a steady pitch as I type this) and one of them had 2 or 3 seconds of off-beats too, don't remember which one right now though.
You may be right about the programming issue though, I didn't know the tracks that well, I bought them all on saturday and did this 2 days later, but as it is intended as a pre-club mood, I decided not to give a steady direction to my set. However, obviously we as DJs tend to view tracks differently and to me it does have some sort of progression, I've been listening to this set all day and I feel it but that's what allows every DJ to program a set differently. I tried to create a very chilled set throughout and then catching it up later on, focusing more on the quality of breakdowns than the basslines, I did my October mix more focused on that. The progressive tracks (chable/powerplant) were inserted where they were 'cos the previous track needed something long to mix out and come to me was perfect for that. I have hundreds of records but I wanted to create something with only these new ones I got, so that's why it may lack consistency...
Anyways, top respect for your feedback mate, I'll keep working on it! Appreciate it a lot! :)
