I'm looking to get my first tattoo towards the back end of next week.
How long will it take for my tattoo to heal completely?
Secondly, any advice once I've got the tattoo? Keeping it clean, dry, etc. |

Thank you, Cru54d3r.
I actually used Google after I posted this thread, which, as usual, pointed me towards some fairly good advice.

usualy after you get the tattoo keep the same bandage on for at least 8 hours best is to keep it on for 24 hours..
2 days after it will start to scab up... keep it clean by washing it at least 2wice a day with soap and water....DONT PICK THE SCAB - this will cause the tattoo to up... for some it may become itchy so use just unsented lotion for it.... mine never was itchy... i guess it depends where u got it on your body..
ususaly the scab stays or it takes at least a week to two weeks before it completely heals..
keep it out of the sun and keep it out of water (in the sense of swimming bathing still water) for at least 2 weeks.
the tatto artist should let you know about these basic things...
again DONT PICK THE SCAB you dont want to screw up your image.. |
