AMP PRESENTS,

BT - BTMUSIC.COM, LA

*EXCLUSIVE LAPTOP SYMPHONY SET*

His concept of epic house inspired by the classical training he received from an early age, Brian Transeau revitalized the British dance community in the mid-'90s and provided a point of entry for later dream-house merchants like Robert Miles, Sash! and BBE (though Transeau had, for the most part, left the style behind by the time of its pop success during 1997-98). After his debut album appeared in late 1995 (as BT), Transeau hit the dance charts when his remix of Tori Amos' "Blue Skies" became one of the most-played American club tracks of the following year. Though he attempted to leave dream-house behind on second album ESCM, Transeau continued to do well with club-goers and critics in Britain as well as America.

Initially known as the pioneer of trance music, BT has arrived as one of the most cutting-edge artists and producers for a multitude of musical styles. Whether he's crafting perfect pop hooks with N'SYNC, composing intricate scores with eighty-piece orchestras for films like The Fast and the Furious, collaborating with Sting on a track from his forthcoming album, or remixing emotional and languid epics for Sarah McLachlan, Tori Amos, Madonna or Seal, BT consistently balances creative and memorable songwriting, sonic innovation, and the latest technology for a cutting-edge, yet organic sound.

KAZELL - LIQUIFIED, SPUNDAE, LA

"One of Los Angeles finest DJ's."
- John Digweed

Kevin Bazell or known more popularly amongst dance circles as Kazell has infected the American club scene with his unique brand of electronic dance music with funky tough grooves and the ability to manipulate the crowd.

It all started in 1991 when Kazell left the Acid House movement in Manchester to cross-pollinate the action to our side of the pond. After gaining notoriety in Atlanta as a favorite local resident at Liquid Groove, Kazell relocated to Los Angeles in 1999 and found his niche as resident for the legendary Liquified events and at LA’s Spundae!

Yes! Just missed BT in Chicago, so I will have to go up to Milwaukee for this. I haven't been to the Rave in ages, so I don't remember, do they have a bar there that's open for 18+ shows? And how long are sets for headliners usually, since there are 4 DJs and closing time is 2? Thank you for any info.

i wouldn't waste your time. The Rave is probably one of the tiest venues around here, imo. the sound sucks, it's too expensive, and EDM shows are usually filled with candy-raver kids since it's 18+. but i guess if you're a really huge BT fan, then go for it.

but yes, they do have a bar thats open during all shows. i'm not sure what set times are, but i would guess around 2 hours.

Please don't waste your money going to The Rave, you'll have a bad experience.

Grr, thanks for the advice. I've only been to the Rave before to see a few hardcore bands and I think maybe Soundgarden way back when and had an OK time. Though having never seen an EDM show there before and trusting the opinions of the Wisconsin TAs, I think I may save the trip, unless there's really not much going on in Chicago that day. Thinking about it more, the acoustics there really can't be too good for BT and there certainly wouldn't be the same view of the booth you get from the 2nd floor at Vision, not to mention only 2 hours. Thanks again and have a good time if any of you are coming down for Sander tonight.
