My 1st Vegas Club Experience: Markus Schulz & AvB

Hola!
So how have things been back home? Vegas is not too bad I guess but I really do miss Austin. Anyway, Just thought I'd drop by to give you guys/gals some details on the Schulz/AvB gig I went to.
First off, here is a link to the thread in the Cali section of TA. 2nd page has pics of the event. The pic of me and the other guy is Boomer from the TA site. The pic of him and the girl is with another TA sweetcandy.

So, the show was at a club called ICE. First thing I noticed, is that there are tons more asians hitting the trance/prog scene over here on the west coast than there are in Austin. I don't mean that in a bad way either. Just an observation. The club has 2 parts: a hip-hop side and an "everything else" side.
the "everything else" side is larger, and equipped with a 10'x10' DJ booth with 2 CDJ1000's, whatever those Techniques are that Packer has, that mixer that Joe has, and an additional 2 decks that were covered and I couldn't see them . The dance floor is about 30'x30' and sits a little bit below the DJ booth. I'm 6' tall and I could barely reach my hand over the booth from the floor. Anyway, on to the cool stuff. The club is called ICE (as i have already mentioned). At various points through the show, they release compressed "below freezing" air onto the crowd. I mean this stuff comes out like a damn wind storm. They also have fog mixed in with the air so that the fog is also cold. They pack the dancefloor with fog (floor to ceiling). The cold blast lasts like 20 seconds. So just imagine sweating your balls (or ) off and getting a dose of freezing air! It was amazing! On top of that, the light show bounces off the fog really well which gives you an amazing display.
Markus Schulz was pretty good. I'm not so much of a prog guy but I can definately appreciate the good tunes that genre puts out. Markus played a few of them. AvB ROCKED THE HOUSE! He was soo into his music! He enjoyed watching us enjoy his show (as well as Markus). I'd love to give you guys a tracklist, but ID'ing tracks is not my forte so you'll just have to see it for yourself on Armin's next ASoT (it was recorded).
Anyway, hope everyone is doing well. Ferry Corsten comes through on Oct 30th (lol holloween party with ferry corsten lol). |

Dude you are so lucky. I've been dying to see Markus Schulz and AvB and you got to see them together in one night. Why can't anyone in Texas do the same and have a night like that? Glad to see you are having fun over there Raymond. Take care man.

dude wish I was there with ya! Halloween party with Ferry would be insane also... damnit. When are you heading back over this way? A few of us are going to Dallas for Ferry on the 22nd, but other than that I won't be making it to any other parties (Voodoo etc). I MUST see AvB!!11oneoneone

Sounds like a great night!!! I have looked for you a little on the west coast board...but I don't really post much there.. just browse :) Did you make it over for LP? For tha matter did any of you guys make it over for LP? It was really amazing, reminded us a little of Ultra in Miami, but had a more unique vibe. Got to see our buddy D:Fuse rock it like no tomorrow... fun was had by all.
Anyway, still check in and keep tabs on all of you in TX :) Make sure you let me know when you are in town.
Raymond... glad it is going well there, say hello if you see me on the west coast board sometime.. and I'll do the same if I see you ;) And make sure I know if you are in town |
