place to live in denmark

wrmsign
Hi guys,

I thought this was the most appropriate place to post this.

I'm going to study and live in Copenhagen for Spring 2005, and I want to find a flat in the city, preferably with some Danish students as roommates. I tried googling some websites, but everything is in Danish. I don't read Danish yet and I'm also living in the US, so its kind of hard.

Any hints, please? And also, want kind of prices are considered cheap, expensive in Denmark?

Thanks.

PS. Very excited about visiting Sweden!

Hi

(LOL this will be interesting :D)
I'm sorry I can't answer any of your questions regarding places to live, isn't there something your university can do for you?
I'm afraid it will be quite hard without inside contacts :)

The prices of groceries in Danmark are about the same as in Sweden.. actually they're not that different from prices in the US except for luxury goods and vegetables. Alcohol & tabacco have high tax rates in Danmark (compared to the US) but they are reasonably lower than in Sweden. If you meant the price for the house I think they are quite high already for Danish standards because København (Copenhagen) is the capital and thus the most-wanted place to live.

Hint: Try eating some hot potatoes before you practice the Danish language, it will come to help :toothless :toothless

Words to remember:
Hei (Hi/bye); Takk (Thanks); Øl og pølser (Beer and sausage :p )
Fandens (The devil.. :disbelief They use this like damn/, actually anywhere they want to express anger ;))
Fett nok!! <- say this when you think something is cool
Det e sku iorden <- this is totally alright :)

Good luck :D
