I would personally have liked to see the Czechs in the final, just because they IMHO have been playing the most interesting hockey alongside with Russia during the last 10 years. People who have only seen matches in the North American or Finnish leagues should really have a look at some Czech league games; not that much "rough and tough", more technique and skill. :)
Anyway, I guess we have to say that the better team won this time. Even though watching your home team's matches can set you in a state almost close to a heart attack at times, It must be said that the Finnish team doesn't play the most interesting and spectacular hockey around, neither does Canada.
Hey Canadians, you should understand to get rid of that overgrown number 66 using a "too-long-to-play-with"-stick. In that case you would have won the cup more easily. ;) I think there are louds of ppl that could replace him in most situations, perhaps not in power play though. Just a personal opinion though... |
