Administrative receivers are waiting to interview the two Midland directors of GK Entertainment following its collapse on August 5.
Stratford-based Neil Moffitt and James Algate were understood to be in America and have been unable to answer questions over the last couple of weeks.
But Birmingham-based administrative receiver Andrew Menzies, of accountant Grant Thornton, warned he may have to use his powers to force the directors, including Chris Griffin who resigned earlier this year, into speaking to him.
Mr Menzies was called in by the Bank of Scotland which was a major creditor of GK Entertainment, whose Birmingham venue Code, in Heath Mill Lane, Digbeth, under-went the £1 million makeover 12 months ago.
It reopened last September under the new name of Air.
However, Mr Menzies said that the club's landlord, Lucan Gray, had taken possession of the premises by forfeiting the lease.
Britain's biggest dance festival, Global-Gathering, which was organised by Godskitchen, was a spectacular success attracting 35,000 revellers at Long Marston, in Warwickshire, at the beginning of the month.
Mr Menzies said: "There are a lot of questions to ask and I am looking forward to receiving some answers.
"The company changed its name a few days before it went into receivership and we also want to know why the club has been run by other companies other than GK Entertainment."
A Godskitchen spokesman said today that after the departure of Mr Griffiin Godskitchen had "undergone a period of internal restructuring."
"This restructuring process has meant the closure of several of the no longer grading Godskitchen affiliated companies," he said.
"These companies have not been promoting the Godskitchen activities for some time." |

Contrary to the article today in The Evening Mail Godskitchen the brand is alive and well as is the Birmingham based club Air. The article that appeared in The Birmingham Evening Mail was incorrect and inaccurate.
The companies that went into receivership did not own the Godskitchen brand and had not been trading as Godskitchen for over a year. The club and Global Gathering – incidentally the most successful dance festival in history – were produced through another company.
Statements made in the paper were incorrect and we will be talking to our solicitors about these inaccuracies.
As the article states this all took place on August 5th and we are now nearly at the end of August and Godskitchen events have not been affected. This week Jeff Mills makes his debut at the club for an Atomic Jam party whilst Polysexual take over the club on Sunday for Mash-tonbury. Check out the listings section for full listings ... " |
