It was quite simply the best party I have ever been to.
The vibe was absolutely fantastic with thousands of people out there having so much fun. It helped that the music was awesome all weekend long too.
Let me just sum it up for all of you that didn't go. All in all Shambhala is about freedom. For a few days you get to do whatever you want to do. You want to run around naked? Do it. You want to bike around wearing a gigantic papier-mache head? Go ahead. You want to smoke DMT and wander around in the woods? Be my guest. You want to dance your ass off for 48 hours straight? Fine.
The past five days have made a bigger impression on me than most anything else I have experienced. I can't wait till next year. |

get freaky in the forest with 6,000 people under the stars
party in a giant tree-fort, dj's perched on huge stumps, dancing under a canopy of trees in the fractal forest....woah
the best sound i have ever heard...5 stages +, and the worlds best breaks..i was way too tame this year, although i was up till 7 am everyday, maybe 10 hours of sleep in total over 3 nights, way too many party favours,.....next year we are going all out with a crazy set-up and costumes for everynight.....
only complaint is that the music needs imporvement...i say more live acts, a trance dj or 2 (christopher lawrence) and less breaks...it was breaks %70 of the time..i mean freeland rocked out for 4,000 people and that was just crazy, and there were many other great sets but i can only handle soo many breaks....
oh and a crazy fashion show, live dance, skateboard pipe, really good food, vendors, soo much eye candy, over half the people were chicks and over half of them were just drop-dead gorgeous...nude beach swimming in the river....amazing..took like 10 seconds to get in...no fights, no bad vibes..so friendly...soo good...soo worth $100 |

$150, need I say more? Hey what about these free raves in Nanaimo?
If you want to run around naked, you can do it for free @ Wreck beach.
I would never pay $150 for a party that doesn't feature music that I would like to hear.
Anyhow, I'm glad that you guys had fun, I just don't see it your way. Seems like a waste of $150, which you can use to buy a descent mp3 player that will last you for a couple of years. |

you could have bought pre sales for $80, so ticket cost is COMPLETLY up to you.
I wish I could have gone, but couldnt get the time off work.
Ill make it one day yet.

| I'm with Nightcreature on this one. Too much money and too far away. Sure the breaks line up was very good, if you're into that kind of music. To me it's just not worth it. I'd love to play at this party one day, although it'll probably never happen. So unless they make an effort to book a good trance DJ (even a nice goa/psy act would do it for me)... Don't think I'll ever be attending Shambala. Glad to hear you guys had fun though :) |
