"After over ten years of business in Vancouver, I have decided to move on to new things.
Starting Monday, and the rest of this month, there will be some huge discounts on everything in the store: clothing, records, equipment, the works.................
If you are interested in taking over the business as is, or taking over the lease on the great store space, or just taking over some of the displays, stock & equipment, then contact Don as soon as possible.
If you have consignment at Bassix, please come and settle accounts before the end of the month.
If you have records on hold here, please come and get them within a week, otherwise they will be put out for sale.
If you have mail order stuff, we would like to send out the orders asap, as no new stuff will be coming in after yesterday's boxes. dats it.

Drop in and check out the goods for sale till the end of August......turntables, amps, cassette players, cd players, air conditioners, fans, mirror balls, security mirrors....u name it.... it is up for grabs...........

Thanks again for the support over the past Decade.
Don."

First Hipnotik, now Bassix :(

Good see that On-Deck and Boomtown are still doing well :)

On-Deck does well?

I knew Bassix was going down slowly b/c few people i know went there since they didnt seem to be selling what people wanted.

My money is on On Deck as the Next Shop to go down the tubes. IMO their buyer is weak. (IMO)

Id say the others have staying power. Wood and Mirk bring in good selections and they seem to move the merchandise at Boomtown.

As for the used stores, vinyl is doing good, and while Otis has been slow for a while now, i wouldnt worry about them until they collapse down into only 1 store.
