What a night!
I got to plush early and didn't have any problems getting in. After sitting idle for around 15 minutes in silence, Danny came on and started playing some progressive house to warm up the crowd. Great warm up set overall. I liked the track selection and the transitions were pretty nice. I also liked how the set was building up
DJ Nemesis played a sick set! Sick sick progressive house tunes and bumping bootylicious tracks. Made me stand up and start dancing. Great transitions and awesome track selection. I liked that you built up towards trance at the end of the set. I also enjoyed the dark progressive tunes that you’ve played. I must say I was impressed :)
Steve Helstrip played an awesome set! Consisting entirely of uplifting trance. Build ups and breakdowns :) He played 2 versions of Synaesthesia. Lots of new songs and a couple of old classics. The transitions were unnoticeable and the whole set was very energetic. I was dancing like a madman for 2h :) I think I sweated over 2L of water. Damn what a set.
This weekend reminds me of the Hybrid/IM weekend :), only this time it’s Thrillseekers and Astral Projection! :D :D
Plush is a great club. I’ve never been there, and I’m looking forward to the Astral Projection party on Aug 1 @ Plus :) I liked that enormous disco ball hanging from the ceiling. It was great seeing you at this party Greg! I hope you are coming to AP on the 1st :) |

greg and i stayed till the ver end
azim left about half an hour before the end, pete TRIED to play hehehe, some dude from calgary droped a track and steve finished up with two tracks also. great night, i had tons of fun, steve was having a blast up there. during his set and after. he was so pissed, marty and adam kept on feeding him beer all night hehe. very friendly guy.
i'm majorly exhausted right now, literally floored it to the show after work. so i'll write more about the night after i get some rest
night creature, i didnt realize it was you that greg was talking to for a while. he's got no manners, didnt even introduce us :whip: :toothless but hopefully i'll see you around at viva one of these days or something
props to union for putting on a great show. no apex for me tomorrow tho, got a birthday party to attend. steve is gonna rock it there tomorrow tho, all those who missed him tonight, should try to see him tomorrow/today/whatever, he's well worth it

Helstrip was amazing. I thought it was funny when he started dancing with a beer in his hand in the cage.
Yeah, Pete tried to mix a track, he kept recycling it and eventually ran out of track to mix into.. hehe.
Yeah, Steve was amazing, great set, full of energy and he was dancing the whole time! He was waving his arms and cheering and really getting the crowd moving, and he stayed for the whole show and talked and was hugging everyone and signed an autograph for me and elena.
Sorry bout not introducing you to Nightcreature, it was so loud because I stood right by the speakers, and I thought you had said you had met him before and it looked like you were expressing a disinterest in talking to him, so I didn't do nothing. HEhe. Didn't realize until after the show you hadn't met him in person, we talked about that =D
It was soo cool getting a card with my TA alias on it!! That rocked! Thanks Tom, Marty and Adam!
Sorry I missed your set Danny. And I'm sorry you missed Steve's set. He played Armin - Blue Fear, Synathesia (Ferry Corsten Remix), a 2003 Insigma track (I still say that was Avalon Elena!) and a few others. At the end of the night, after Pete and that guy from Calgary had a track each after Marty and Adam finished up, Steve got back on and dropped a track out of I think it was either his case or marty and adam's case, Witness of Wonder - Emotions in Motion (Thrillseekers Remix), and Elena was like, what's that track I know it! And I walked over and asked Marty and he was showed it to me and I told Elena and we both had a good laugh! Plus Steve was trying to mix pissed!
Overall it was a great show and makes me regret not coming out to more of this stuff in the past. Lack of funds mostly, and laziness/shyness to boot! |

so i remembered i never wrote my impression of the thrillseekers' show....
... it was great! when i got to plush tom was just moving into trance. my name was at the door but marty put down our TA names on passes, not our real names hehe so the girl at the door couldnt find anything for me. i went in to get marty to sort things out, he was just so very friendly, told me how much he loved when TAs came out to party (makes me think about the other thread :( )anyhow, i got in, it was really cool to have a pass with apri_peel on it :D
steve played a really good set. lots of stuff i dont know, a good half the tracks i never heard before. he was having a great time, like greg said, he was also pretty hammered hehehe. the set was everything i expected it to be, no disappointments at all, as a matter of fact the whole night was great. i love partying with TAs, cause we can be trance geeks and ID tracks, like greg and i did hehehe :p and greg, that was no avalon, that was hydra - affinity, some new remix of it
thank you to the union crew and fnk, i had a blast, saw some old faces, met some new people, this is how parties should be, everyone is nice and friendly to each other, no screw overs and no fck ups, everything smooth like a baby's bottom :toothless |
