I wanted to support in my own way. I wanted to flyer for you and I asked nothing in return. I just wanted to help the cause. You didn't contact me when the flyers came in like you said you would and when I asked you again at Viva about flyers you pretty much blew me off.

Hmm..I cant say much because for one thing, I am underage, and I obviously do not contribute to the Vancouver scene (I have not even been to an event yet, not because I am too lazy or whatever, because I cant) But I can say that you definatly have a valid point. You can bet yer ass Id come out every night I could. I dont want to further evoke anything..but mabye it will just take time..
I do hope that you speaking up, will move some people to come out and see you, and many others of Van's scene.
I just wish I could do something with this scene here.. I dont know anyone my age that likes Electronic music, I dont know anyone even close to my age who goes to these events. I dont post much here, but I read everything posted, I try to keep myself more or less updated on the DJs and Events happening in the city.

Your post IS NOT useless............I remember being broke and in London and standing outside of Ministry of Sound not able to go in (this was 1999 too :()
I remember feeling hopeless when Anthony Pappa played Atlantis and 80 people showed up (Pappa is a personal friend, and the first person to grant me an interview) I felt bad and embarrassed then too.
I remember going to my last Plaza party and feeling sad because there's one of my heros Marco V playing techno tracks I own.......and people seem to be in outerspace.
Then there is the flip.....I remember when I first started clubbing I was at the Lotus every friday and sonar every saturday...........I didn't drink. I didn't do drugs but I danced. And I felt such power knowing that these two places were playing music that I loved. And the people that went loved the music too.....No one cared who was playing.....in fact in two years I still never knew who played at Sonar. But everyone was local and yes it was friday and saturday and the weekend is easier to fill for sure.
Sweetie you are doing so much. You are so young and have such passion and it brightens my day :D:D:D
So many people on this board are extremely passionate about the music. My thread wasn't entitled "screw off Van TA's" it was a general beef with everyone in vancouver...........I was posting it here more for feedback and had to direct some comments directly to make it applicable. Imagine if I printed posters and posted them all over the city with my issues.........lol!!!!!!!!!!
just a thought, but probably won't happen ;) |

I am sorry you felt I blew you off at Viva I couldn't hear you. My mistake. Yes the fliers came in I haven't contacted anyone because I have been working 6 days a week and playing thursday fri sat for the last three weeks. In short I am exuasted.
I never said you didn't try.
If you still want I will contact you. I will even pay you. I don't care. YOu have obviously missed my point, but I guess in your defence you don't really know me (I will try to change that) so you couldn't possibly understand my post is made primarily out of passionate frustration....not a big F**K YOU TA's.......what's the point?? |
