All I gotta say, that most games that are coming out are just plain unoriginal and repatative. Back in the days 80s and early 90s you had so much different "genres" in games it made you shat your pants.
Now the big corporates decided to move in becuase they think that they will make a boat load of money and just repeat what other companies are doing. No wonder there isn't any good amount of games coming out because they don't know jack ! they all fired those creative dwellers or made them retire by giving them a lot of money. Or all that merging to one company lost many good key members to making a "great" game. EX: Westwood went to EA and now when Generals released it was just "CRAP" they had do so many fixes that it wasn't even funny anymore. I had to ing beta test that and I knew this wasn't going to be a great game before it hit shelves. Even worse they decided to make C & C generals zero hour to make extra money which in fact was the "BIG" Fix to all the problems in the first game and they just added minor unit adjustments to make people happy "WOW".
The majority of the games coming out are mostly FPS games with blood and gore and all that fancy stuff because thats what the public likes! Whatever happened to the adventure games that made you laugh because it was "actually" funny and "different". Now everyone just turned serious and the gaming market is not the same anymore.
Most of the those developers just don't know what they are doing. It's about big dollars to them and no fun. Look at Atari when they got bought out by Corporates it just went downhill from there. You guys seen that documentary on the history of videogames now tell me that was the life! You do it because you want to do it, not because you work because you are being paid to do it.
I swear it just sucks now. You noticed the announcements on the next full throttle and sam n max that got canned before it was released? It's because the dumbs up there thunk to themselves that this is not going to make money.
Oh and what about the new Leisure suit larry game.. the guy who invented Larry was not even informed to help write the script! They said they will have him help out but I doubt it becaues they think they can sell it by just the name.
Ya know if thats the case then am going to ing start my own developement team and make all genres like before and make sure all my employees are gonna have the fun of their life and not dress in ties and stay in a cubicles. If they want to swim in the pool fine I'll put a pool. It will make them happy and make me happy because they are doing it for the fun of it and they are getting paid to make something great. The hell with the money as long as I can support the rent and business and my employees the billion dollar . Thats more ferraris then you can handle in a lifetime.. might as well help the unemployeed people of the World!!!.

DO you have the $$$$$$?
Im not sure but i think making games in those days costed much less then what it cost to make them now.Thats why there was much more games then there are now. |

The only reason why they cost more is because it's getting trendy in the mainstream areas. Then again I was bored so I said what i said.. but heck if I had the dollars I would do it.. Mind you am putting all my effort to making something out of this and when I mean it I mean it..
This is the challenge am giving myself since I do need a challenge then actually sitting in front of my computer or goto work everyday and wait for instructions and be a potatoe rearranging my moods every now and then ahahah.. Damn I love those Mr. Potatoe heads.. But ya why not.. I'll just get couple of close programers that I know and pay them a lot more then what regular programers get because I know they will "love to do it" and they are my friends.. then again its going to be a teamwork after all I help them they help me we are all happy. Two minds work better then one. |

| Myea i wish someone would release an Adventure game. I miss the Kings Quests, Monkey Islands, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis. All those games were en mad fun, but these days, that whole genre is gone :( |
