Kill off post counts ? ?

I am glad to see some changes on TA :)
much appreciated but i had another idea that may help to ease the cases of spam in various forums
How about doing away with the post count ?
any of us that have been here a while know that the post counts mean nothing, too many spammers making lame threads and posts to get high post counts.
or if not a forum wide stoppage of post counts just stop any posts in chill out adding to the post count
i think that prolly many threads and posts would not be started / posted if they dont get another "count" in there.
Just a thought

i support - some threads in the chill-out section are disgusting! :mad:
but i dunno if it's realy gonne help - i mean , all the flamers (who usually kicked out and sign again) will keep posting...
but still , i think its worth a try - maybe it'll stop all the useless disgusting threads that post in the chill-out room lately...
its a good idea - maybe just need some work on it :) |

yep i've been in a forum that does this. they put the number of posts in the user profile only instead of showing up under their avatar. its not too bad. then that way people would have to click on their profiles to see the number of posts for that user among other user info and my guess is people wouldn't really do that so they don't really know what the post counts are. am i making any sense? :D
also since it wasn't completely eliminated, the users can have a look at their own post count if they are that curious. *shrugs* anything is better than how its done now. |

disappear them, not only do not show anything of interesnt, but increase stupid post
like if you go to humor section there are like 7 answers to each thread that just say lol. or questions in music discusion that are answered by I dont know, and if u hide it, still many people will want to raise them because of title changin priviliges.
My sugestion: Make title changin avaible if u have been active for 2 months and eliminate post counts |

| yeah...i also like to know how many posts i've made...but i just don't see why anyone would post just to add to their count...it makes no sense. is there some kind of competition to see who can post the most. who cares. get a life. i think the moderators should take note of the useless posters and get rid of them. my opinion. |
