Well, a few people were really annoyed that PvD had cancelled his 6 hour set @ Gatecrasher this weekend, but all calls for his head were stopped when scott bond announced at the start of his set the exact reason. Paul had 2 freinds stuck in the disaster in NYC, so he is excused... and i think we all send our best wishes to him. Scott also announced at the start of his set, that all the ticket money & DJ fees would be going to the New York Firefighters Memorial fund, to which the whole of gatecrasher cheered... then he played Stringer :D:D
PvD's replacements were equally as good, if not better than he wold have been. We had Ashley Casselle, Matt Hardwick, Eddie Halliwell & Scott Bond, (with Lisa German (i think) & Ashley Casselle again in Digital Revolution) so in essence it was another residents night :)
Ashley Casselle opened in the future room... grinding heavy progressive beatz with a spot of breakbeat to give it variety.. in hell is that guy good :) Then Matt Hardwick stepped up... >>Bosh<< straight into the trademark Gatecrasher music :D uplifting vocal trance 2 the max :whip: :whip: :whip: Then up came the new favorite of crasha kidz.. Eddie Halliwell. If u havent seen this d00d.. find somewhere u can, cuz this guy is gonna be BIG ;) he started turning the heat up goin thru a bit of epic b4 hitting us right on the head with the hard stuff :D heez gotta b good cuz he played the tune that i love dancing to the most.. Marco V - Indicator heheheh :D:D Scott Bond Stepped up.. He swayed all over the place with uplifting, epic, hard progressive and just generally hard :D he made my night by playin max grahams new one... sepia :D wicked wicked tune!!
up in digital revolution was the best ive ever heard it.. Lisa German was having a wicked GC debut, with a bit of prog house and a lil funky... but not crap funky.. it was good progressive funky... which is something coming from me who hates funky house! then when she finished her set she came on to the dancefloor to have a groove.. she kept pinchin my arse, so i pinched back :p Ashley Cassele's second set, i thought was better than his first one... tribal, deep, progressive & breakbeat :D nyah i could eat it all heheh.. he was so good i had to tell him as he was on his way out :) i noticed as i shook his hand somehting i had never noticed b4 (cuz he is always either miles away or in the dark and u cant see properly..) he's a rite ugly ******! but hey, he plays good music so it dont matter.
10 out of 10 Gatecrasher! |
