No I dont think it gives reason for torture or collateral damage as you said webby at all, I just agree with Lethal when he says that you can't just bail for one or two people. Think about all the people killed that you havent seen or heard about . . did you really care about them? It's only because the media is constructing truth and picking what they want to show you, so you will respond in a certain way. Any of you that saw the old show Frontline will know exactly what I mean.

Yeah its true that you can't just bail, but honestly what did that region have anything to do with Bush's initial plan of invasion. He assumed that they were linked to Al-Queda but numerous investigations proved this to be false.
The Bush administration invaded this country for one purpose and one purpose only, oil. There were no weapons of mass destruction, nor evidence that proves they had anything to do with 9/11. These terrorists want the troops out because they shouldn't be in there in the first place. Building a new regime is it? A regime that follows the 'American' way.
Fair enough if they had nukes, or if they were responsible for 9/11... then I would agree that killing off foreigners shouldnt deter the troops invading. But the troops are there for the wrong reasons. |

Everyone knows that the reason the war in iraq took place was about oil... noones disputing that fact Rez, but i do belive that if the coalition pull out iraq the world will go down the tube in a big way!! I honestly dont care what regime takes over so long as it isnt religious (my view - religion is the cause of the worlds major attrocities, if you dont agree thats your right but dont try and change my view!).... Hell i wouldnt mind seeing a communist regime take over i belive that would possibly do good for iraq but i digress.... The fact of the matter is if america bails - iraq will go down the tubes and the whole world will suffer...
On the flip side i do agree with pulling OUR troops out of iraq at the end of the year - our troops that are in iraq are SAS troops, medical support troops and air traffic control troops. Now that responsibility for Baghdad airport is back in the hands of the iraqi's (with iraqi traffic controllers running all but the military portion of the base now!) what need is there for our boys to stay? As for the SAS if major combat missions have ended (as claimed repeatedly by America) then you dont need Special forces troops you require your basic grunt soldier (ie your basic infantryman), not the specialised troops, therefore i dont really see the reason for our boys to stay. And as for the medical support troops my understanding is that theyve pretty much been taken over by americans anyway so same deal...
Just my points of view... :) |
