BEcause of the miracle of tape-delay and sheer boredom (aka channel surfing) I just stumbled on this.
Watched the second 20 mins of the first half.....still am not impressed with it as much as 15 man rugby. But I will watch till the end and maybe try to pick up on what the rules are.
I must say that the guy just getting up and rolling the ball to a teamate after a tackle is, uhm, weird.
I still think it reminds me a lot of American Football.....and I will not explain my reasons here.
Off to watch the second half (ya I know who won, but since I have not watched more than abotu 15 minutes of a league match without getting bored before I figured I would give it a try hehe)

Pissing up on a Wednesday isn't a good idea when you start work at 9 the next morning :S
Good game though, I can stomach NSW losing when it's an open and entertaining game like last night's. But I didn't think the refereeing was as dodgy as everyone seems to think?
And MrS I can see why you think league is similar to gridiron, though our sport wasn't designed with commercial breaks in mind :p |

i never noticed much to complain about with the ref until I head this morning that gould was having a go. qld won it, the ref had very little impact.
that overhead camera should be used for target practice by the army. It gives crap pictures and got in the way of every other camera angle. |

Well...it was uhm interesting. I must say that Slater try was pretty fun stuff to see.
I guess I will have to watch the last match and figure out if I like it or not. Hehe.
I did notice the commentator say "we'll take a short break" then I watched the camera just sorta wander around for a minute or so then him say "welcome back" so obviously the commercial break has been introduced down there lol.
Oh , I just found out that there is another NZ vs bastard pom test goign to be aired live here on saturday (3 am here) and I was planning on going to my mom's.....oh well tape delay for me. Though I think my mom has fox sports world now, hmmmmmm. Lol
Next weekend will be the better one though. Wallabies vs England in the wee hours of saturday morning, then Tiesto @ Vision in chicago in the early hours of sunday AM.
