Received my first turntables today, they were sent out from the seller off ebay.
Opened the box, one of the counterweights has broken off the tonearm in transit!!!!!!!
Now I gotta fix that somehow.......
Thanks a lot Aus Post, you just screwed a perfectly good turntable.
Does anyone know if Aus Post covers damage like this?
Not only that, I bought supposedly 'mint condition' decks. They have got so many scratches and marks on them!!
What a house day, I was so excited about getting my decks, and they turned out like this
Thats my rant, I'm severly pissed off at the moment |

my guess is that u didnt insure it, so i doubt u'll be able to do anything. as for the scratches, notify the seller. if ur not happy, threaten to leave negative feedback on his ebay account for deception, which will mean a lot to him/her if he or she's a power seller. maybe they'll reimburse you some cash back somehow.
at the end of the day though mate, as long as the platter spins with the required technics torque, that's all that's important. |

well dude...
never buy decks off ebay.
i bought mine off the trading post solely so i could go and check out the so called 'mint condition' myself.
not sure about the aust post thing. for all you know the dude that sold it to you broke the tonearm.
seriously its not worth saving a few hundred over. mine were in ing mint as condition, he only had it for 2 weeks.
had to drive out bush for it, but it was worth it.
BL dude, the most u can probably get out of this is giving him bad feedback :whip: :whip: |

bad luck dude.
unless you paid insurance on the delivery, you'll find it hard to receive compensation from aus post. There's no real way that you can prove Aus post damaged the item in transit.
a lesson to everyone else - when buying things like this make sure you get to see it in person before making a decision. otherwise, make sure it's insured. |

Absolutely, I've learnt that the hard way.
I can't give any better advice based on my experiences.
The scratches and marks don't worry me, I was expecting some.
The tonearm is what has me pissed off |

how was it packaged?
my guess is that the dude from ebay 'forgot' to tell you that the tone arm is broken in the hope that you would blame Aus Post. If he said its in mint condition and there are scratches all over it, the legitimacy of his claim seems somewhat absent. I agree with Jaykue, if his reputation is of a concern to him on ebay, tell him you are going to a) contact ebay for false advertising b) report negative feedback.
There are heaps of dodgy's out there on ebay, unless its an online shop or someone with exteremely high rating, its very risky to buy expensive merchandise (especially 2nd hand).
best of luck with the outcome anyways dude. |
