Try deleting it from a DOS prompt

goto start>run

type 'cmd' or 'command'

you will get a dos windows, then find your file.

use 'cd xxxx' to change to a specific directory

'cd..' to go one directory down

'del xxxxxx' to delete a specific file

You think you've got problems. I've got a mIRC icon in the shortcut bar which doesn't exist. It links to nowhere, it's 0 bytes and it wont delete, be moved, renamed or owt. Can't even type in the location of mIRC to get some use out of it, all the boxes are greyed out :conf:

Well I'll assume you're running a windows platform with Windows Media Player integrated into the filebrowser. I'll also assume that when you say "file" you really mean "pr0n."

See they've got this "feature" that previews the media file in the filebrowser. Thing is, when you try to delete/rename, it says no because it's being used by another program - Windows Media Player. There's a way to turn off that "feature" but I never bothered to do it as I actually like it. So what I do if it's being a bitch is just create a new text file, highlight both, then delete (as it can't preview 2 files, much less 2 files of different types).

U can try restarting in safe mode (f8 when booting) and then deleting int. Chances are it'll work

I got a freaking FOLDER that can't be deleted, because it doesn't exist.

Doesn't work for me.

Try loading Nero, browse to the folder where it is and delete it. Nero doesn't give a rat's ass what the file is (unlike windows)...

that nero trick is a really good idea. thanks i'll try and use that one from now on.
