Whirring Hard drive sounds View this Thread in Original format dig2k Hey, one of the hard drives in my friends computer has been making whirring sounds whenever u turn the pc on for a while now. mine has just started to do this as well. Both hard drives work perfectly, its just this strange sound when you first turn the computer on. Any ideas on what this might be? Am I gonna have to buy a new hard drive? kiddiejon is there a cd still in the drive? it may be the cd you hear whiring? ô§§|E Are they old HDD's? dig2k Theres no cd in the drives. The hard drives are only about 2 years old. Dr. Cfire Its probably not the hard drives. It's probably the cooling fans that are making the noise.
