what about closing the registration for some weeks\months ?
so we can get rid off these spammers
and use the option on uBB that you have to be a member to access the forums in the first place
so we can get things under control
its getting more and more ridiculous
last week or the week before i read that ppl are considering to leave the forum because of the spammers and etc
make it a privat forum for a while so we might get back to the level it used to be
where it all was about music

A pretty decent idea, but i think unfair to newbies.... Granted, there are some spammers on here, but there always will be... I think turning off registration for a couple of months unfair to newbies (say your friends that you tell about this site?)... Besides there are a lot of newbies who are pretty good at track ID and could be helpful around here ;)
As far as the viewing forum blocking idea, another great idea, but i would be a hyprocrite saying that.... I was browsing the forums on here and reading for 7 months before i actually signed up... why? i don't know. Just never felt like i knew enough to join in the conversation.
I think the best idea was to remove the # of posts - people seem to use this as a "echelon indicator"..... i.e. making you better or something stupid like that if you have a lot of posts.
But in reality all this site needs is more time & posts from Swamper! ;) :p :D Never quite know what he is up to....

| all the is coming from one person, swamper i no u sed in the chatroom u cant do jack with his ip but i didnt understand why, even if hes on 56k dial up, u could still get his ip from the next post, and then paste it on ta as an anncouncement post, he'll soon leave for good whenever he posts and will have to reformat his comp aswel? :rolleyes: |
