I reckon now its gonna be between shearer and henry. I would more than likely put my money on shearer due to the fact he seems to be the only newcastle player getting all the goals where as Arsenals goals seem to come from a various range of players.

| its gotta be henry i think. without doubt player of the year, has been consistantly good throughout the whole of this season. only reason he may not get it, would be if arsenal won the league with many games to spare and hes rested.. |

It seems almost illegal now to say anything bad about Henry, but his past few games he has been poor. Not poor by his standards, just poor. Getting on the scoresheet against Man Utd concealed another poor performance, when he was brought on in the FA semis he made no impact and I think he offered little against Chelsea in both legs of the Champions League, missing a one-on-one in both legs. Wenger was right to take him off today. People look over these mistakes because he's Thierry Henry, but I've seen Emile Heskey make exactly the same mistakes and everyone bursts out laughing calling him a donkey.
Henry will sooner or later bounce back and start banging them in again, but Shearer is on form now and has Bellamy alongside him at long last. It's very difficult to say. Before the season began I said Henry would get the Golden Boot but now it's very tight, Shearer is only 1 goal behind. I've voted for Shearer (bit biased) but I think it'll only be a goal or two that separates it.
There's still enough games for Ruud or Forssell to catch up but I think it'll be Shearer or Henry. |
