Hello,
I did a remix this weekend for a friend of mine- really just a homage to such an amazing song he wrote. The original song is an ambient track that is just mindblowing, one of the most beautiful songs ever written..so I took some of the material, gave it a different edge and rewrote the parts into a more trancey feel.
Kind of a heads up with this one: its DEFFO not in your face and really not supposed to be. I tried to give it a more progressive feel and not as much thumping energy with huge melodic lines as normal trance is today. It's pretty progressive and laid back...some nice sounds here and there etc. I tried to make almost a kind of statement I guess...really simple percussion, big sweepy sound effects and flowing basslines.
I hope you can take a listen, I'm pretty pleased with it. I'd love to know what you think of it..

Ok dude here goes as i listen:
Good kick, bassline is pretty decent too. Yeah like it. Fx are niiiiice!
Synths come in... they are quite simple. Maybe you could thicken them. Violin needs a bit more reverb, it's too fake. Same for the other strings coming next.
Apart from that production quality is quite good. I don't like the melody in trance genre but that might be personal.
Overall it's pretty good :D |

wow gorgeous! im listening to the 2 original mixes. gorgeous. he did a great job, and ur remix is great also really compliments the originals. totally different style to. i like. good work :D
maybe work on the sound of the first synth a bit more it deosnt really suit the track the way it starts suddenly like that. thats the only critisism, nice strings :)
