Doom 3

Played the Beta version and it's a wicked game from what I can see. Can't wait till the full release so that I can hear Trent Reznor's music for the game and play the game in its intirety and not just some glitchy beta.

It runs at a reasonable speed as long as you tweak the config file so that resolution is low, etc.

I once tried the Alpha-version, a bit too laggy with my radeon 9800pro. Hopefully the final game will allso support radeons in the way it supposedly supports nvidia hardware.

Radeon 8500 here and had no problems with the beta. There were problems with nvidia cards actually with the beta and theres a patch for them now that comes with the beta.

Otherwise it ran fine on my card, I had to tone down all the settings using the config file and notepad but I still got it done but it runs slow for everyone pretty much, I spoke to some other people with even faster systems and the beta is just buggy so lagging is expected.

personally started out being a doomer
but then action quake had me converted
but this one looks like a promising sign for me to return to DOOM

i'm expecting it to be really short, like Unreal 2 short. There is an interview around somewhere mentioning that they are not concerned about the length of the game, only the experience and atmosphere.

The Alpha ran OK (with everything on high) on my Radeon 9700 Pro overlocked, but with shadows disabled (which is not as nice) I got about 60-80fps.
