| its implied that because your posting on a tuesday youve had a big weekend, taken lots of drugs, and you feel like now because of the come down. |

Id just like to bring up a point first raised by the late prophet Bill Hicks......
Ecstacy is a drug that is responsible for a handful of deaths each year (if its more than 50 deaths a year in oz i'd be VERY suprised, but lets say 100 just to be safe), so ecstacy is resposnible for 100 deaths a year directly and is SUSPECTED (not proven) of causing long term damage...
Tobacco is a drug that is PROVEN (not just suspected) to KILL about 75% of smokers in later life through cancer, emphesema, etc. That means about 50,000 people a year die from tobacco DIRECTLY! The cost of looking after these people as they die runs into the billions for our hospitals!
Now tell me which one you honestly think is doing the most damage to our society??? I think its a pretty easy choice....
-------------------------------------------------------------
Yes there are a lot of negative aspects to our scene due to drug use... However its only the media's portrayal that makes our scene stand out more so then the pubbing scene, the smoking scene, etc...
I think if you look at the clubbing scene in australia its actually quite a safe and responsible scene, there are always the odd individuals that get overly mashed and make fools of themselves but this happens in any scene (how many times have you seen that in a pub?)
But i think your right about the rave scene Paulie, raves dont really attract the sort of people that attend for the music (its kinda hard to sit back and enjoy music when its up about 160bpm imho). People go to raves to get mashed - not everyone of course but i do think its niave to belive that less then 50% of the crowd at a RAVE is their for any other reason but to get mashed.... its part of the reason i stopped attending raves.... I just wish the media would stop grouping both clubs and raves into the same basket....
I dont have any solutions on how to fix this aspect of the scene, but it would be good if the only way you could get into a rave was if you answered a question about the music!! What was the 3rd track on Global Underground 005??? anyone??? :D:D:D |

i often find the music too hard and fast these days, but 70bpm is just a little to far the other way.
like many things, drugs and raves are fine if you do it cos it's fun, bad if you have to do it to unwind or operate. |
