Halcyon taking a break....

hey all.

It is with great difficulty that Mike, Diggs, Marlo and I have decided to put halcyon on ice for a short while and take a short break, recharge our batteries and formulate what we hope will be a successful future for the event.

18 months ago when Altitude started back at the Dendy our goal was to put together an event where we could give people an amazing night out, an event where people would be able to have a wicked time without anything else to worry about. 18 months later we'd like to think that we achieved that. In fact we achieved a whole lot more, a venue change we could only have dreamt about, friendships that will surely last a lifetime, the exposure many of our djs have received from the event...the list goes on. But 18 months down the track our greatest achievement is still what we set out to do at the very start... giving people an amazing night out!

We're looking forward to reclaiming our weekends, being on the receiving ends of some awesome parties, and generally mucking around without the worry of that 5am flyering run in the morning...oh yeah, and also getting a bit of sleep.

Whilst this is not the end of the road, it is an appropriate time to say some very heartfelt thankyou's.

To our DJs, thanks for always cranking out some wicked tunes. We were blessed to have some of the most talented djs play in both our rooms and they always managed to bring a unique vibe to each of their sets, even gadg who often struggled to stand under the weight of the booze, you rock!! Thanks to Cam also who often stepped above the role to help out! thanks!

To our door girls...what can we say? you always do a sensational job up there by yourselves...we owe you big time!

To Josh, Bianca & the entire Gas crew...thanks for putting up with us and thankyou for all your support both with our night and with our own careers. We thoroughly enjoyed working with some of the best and most professional people in the industry...forever with smiles on your faces it was an absolute pleasure! thankyou!

To Brad...thanks for always going the extra mile to do something special for our night. It was appreciated beyond belief by our punters but mostly by us. We'll forever remember halcyon:cloud9 and halcyon:frozen for their superb production! You rock!

To our stunning girlfriends who've supported us the whole way, even to the point of the flyering missions, we're forever in debt, thanks girls!

To Wade - you know you kick arse so we won't say much! always happy to trek miles for us...thankyou

And finally to everyone who came along to our events. We have met some extraordinary friends along the way and so many people who make going out on the weekend so damn exciting and unpredictable. People who will talk your ear off (*cough* chewporka *cough* ??) or just refuse to leave their reserved spot on the floor (did someone say leigh?), thankyou to everyone - we hope you enjoyed the nights as much as we did.

Thanks to everyone who make the Altitude/Halcyon events great - we're going to see you soon!

yup, was great while it lasted :) and i think they've made the rite decision to pull the plug for a while now so it can go out while things were still good, instead of letting it dwindle and die slowly like so many events do....better to end on a high note :) :)
eRRaTiK

Romp

Indeed some very memorable moments of trashness at Halcyon. Thanks for everything guys, Halcyon was always the place to go after a long week at uni/work where you could just go and get your mind off things. Atmosphere and crowd was second to none ! Hopefully we shall see a Halcyon relaunch in the near future :)
