OK I am wondering , alot of posters here are up really late posting, such as myself...I usually glance at the time when each post gets posted and even with time differences, It is apparent to me that Lots of Trance Addicts are definitely insomniacs/night people even during the week. Now most of the time i'm a night person whether I go to a club or not, I am up all night most of the time, then sleep during the day perhaps 3pm or later, perhaps 8pm if its Friday. This is without any substances...with them things get a bit more extreme, but thats only on big nights like DT's 5 Year Anniversary, or Crasher NEC. Anyway some TA's/Clubbers are straight all the time, some will indulge in things sober ppl dont like. Both sides are up all damn night regardless, at least some nights...listening to Trance maybe, posting here, or at a club if it's the weekend....alot of times for me though it's whatever i can get away with without pissing off downstairs neighbors or roomates. More fun in the summer-we can at least go outside a bit...I used to ride my bike through Brooklyn sometimes just to get tired.
So which came first, the tendency towards being a nightowl, or did EDM and DJ's playing all night/day led you to the night owlish hours we seem to keep?
My first poll ever BTW...conveinently it's 4 am as well. I sure hope someone cares enough to vote...or i will hav to STFU i guess? :stongue:  :conf: :D :D
OK I dont know why I coundn't make this a real poll....so...post your opinon anyway...Inquiring Night ppl want to know or at least, I do :) Actual poll is in "Everything Else"... polls.
Seems like more ppl will see it here, Nobody browses that forum all night as they do here!! |

always been a nite person
if i can i'll sleep in until the sun goes down again
unfortunatly responsibilities don't let that happen
it really helps when i go running in hte evening so that i'll be exhausted enough to really want to pass out at nite. |

Good point ... get in an hour of cardio...dosnt happen for me so much in the winter gyms are too exp, cold, blahh..etc..
thats why I'd love to move somewhere warm...I used to run- i did a marathon once, in the Sierra Nevada Mountains near Mammoth Lks, California... a bit harder to run at altitude for sure! Now I prefer less impact stuff, NYC is really hard to get out Cycling though when its so cold. |

I think i have definitely become more of a night owl since I started going to uni, and also since I started listening to EDM more.
Since I got cable internet, that is when I really started being a night-owl. |

BTW j-pie I checked the box :) didnt come up with a poll format.
And also my answer to my own question!
I discovered EDM through napster...just DL'ing random one night very late, alot of ppl then had Minstry of Sound annual by judge jules, clubbers guides etc as a single 1 hour track...I became trance addicted immediately dancing in my room in Brooklyn. Night tencency was first for sure
before that i had been to a few clubs/afterhours stuff in San Francisco, but the music was not the focus at all. All rock'n roll, NIN etc. Was really getting bored with music until I found Trance it is so much easier to dance to than, say, NIN's Terrible Lie,my fave "dance" song back in the day...ahh to be 16 sneaking into clubs good times |

NYTA's are dropping out of the late night woodwork hehe...hey there :D
Thing that sucks about NYC late! Subways....grr those daytime peeps have got it made with their frequent trains...less than an hour commutes...theyre spoiled
I waited a half hour at 2 diff transfer points tonight...last one filled with homeless dudes on the benches sleeping, but sitting up all in a row. Dont see often, usually they grab a train...see even they gave up waiting. And it was only like 1am -4 -6am is alot worse |

I'm always up all night, it's a curse. Is there anything you can do to get back to a normal schedule? I usually stay up til 6 or 7 than sleep til like 4PM. ugh.
Even when I wake up early like i ahve to wake up in 3 hours 45 minutes for class, i will stay up til at least 3 since there is always so many things to occupy my mind!
It really is a terrible pattern that I can't seem to fix. Even if i go to bed at like 12AM, i still sleep til like 2, than wont fall asleep til late! :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: |
